You should see results from your very first wash with Touch Of Silver Brightening Shampoo. This colour correcting shampoo will work to neutralise brassy, yellow tones. Two applications a week is enough to keep brassiness at bay. For optimum results, we recommend to use the Colour Care Shampoo & Conditioner in between washes, for a beautiful bright blonde, white or silver. Individual results may vary.

No Touch Of Silver is not a hair dye, but a temporary hair colouring shampoo. It contains violet pigment which temporarily sits on the surface of the hair, as opposed to permanent and semi-permanent hair dyes which penetrate the hair shaft and ‘lock’ colour inside. The violet pigment washes out within 6 to 8 washes; it cannot be seen on the hair because violet is the opposite of yellow on the colour wheel. Touch Of Silver’s technology creates an optical illusion whereby the product’s violet pigment and the hair’s yellow tones cancel each other out to make the hair lighter and brighter.

The PRO:VOKE Touch Of Silver Brightening Shampoo is a toning treatment shampoo, so if you leave it on for too long, or use it too frequently, you can develop a purple tinge to your hair. This tinge won’t last. To prevent over-toning, we recommend using Touch Of Silver Colour Care Shampoo which has a cleansing formula that removes any colour build up of the active violet pigment. Use the Brightening Shampoo only as directed and do not use everyday or leave on the hair for more than 5 minutes. Make sure you also wait at least two weeks after having hair bleached, permed or coloured before using.

We recommend not to use the Brightening Shampoo for 2 weeks after having hair dyed. It is advisable to leave the product on for only 2 to 3 minutes, rather than the full 5 minutes for the first wash. Bleaching hair can make it more porous so if you use the Brightening Shampoo shortly after dyeing, the results may be a little uneven, which could give a slight patchy look. We recommend to follow with the Intensive Conditioner which is specifically formulated to combat the drying aspects of hair bleaching.

Whenever you have enough white hairs that you want to give a brighter and more radiant look. If you have salt & pepper hair, Touch Of Silver is ideal to use. It will give the white hair an instantly more vibrant look, but it should not alter the colour of dark hair; this will just look more lustrous. You do not have to wait until you have entirely grey or white hair to see the benefits of Touch Of Silver.

The Brightening Shampoo actively neutralises brassiness and tones the hair as it contains our active violet pigment, however, this is a treatment shampoo that cannot be used in every wash as you can create a build up of colour. The Colour Care Shampoo works to cleanse the hair, prevent colour build up, boost shine and safeguard hair colour. We recommend using the Brightening Shampoo twice a week for toning your hair and the Colour Care Shampoo in between washes.

None of the products in the Touch Of Silver range affect the development of the baby therefore they are safe to use when pregnant.

The main concern with using any product on hair extensions is that the solvents can dissolve the glue that binds the extensions to your hair. The ingredients of concern are alcohol as well as silicones. As Touch Of Silver shampoos do not contain either ingredient, the products should be fine to use on hair extensions. However, the range has not been specifically tested on hair extensions. Therefore we would strongly recommend doing a strand test.

The PRO:VOKE Touch Of Silver Brightening Shampoo has been designed specifically for reducing brassiness and yellow tones in blonde, grey and white hair. However, Brunettes with ombre hair can use the products, though we recommend using the Brightening Shampoo specifically on the lighter lengths rather than the dark roots, targeting the brassy ends directly. The toning violet pigment won’t change or lighten the colour of your dark brown hair, but we do advise doing a patch test on a small area of your naturally brown hair to ensure that you are happy with the optical effect that the shampoo has on your hair.

Touch Of Silver is only in contact with your hair and scalp for a short time and it is therefore extremely unlikely that you will have an adverse reaction to any of the product’s ingredients. However, if you do experience problems such as skin or scalp itching, discontinue use immediately. If you experience a skin or scalp rash, swelling to eyes/face, blistering after use or on the following days, you must seek immediate medical advice. We recommend undergoing a patch test before first use if you are concerned.
